Oh joy... the bloody irony.

I haven't seen snow since late April. Since this Summer was so hot and humid, I'm expecting snow by late October or early November.

Fortunately, where I live, snow is usually completely gone after two days.

We should build a pipeline to blow lots of cool air to whichever side of the globe is having Summer heat.

I should patent that idea, before someone really does build such a pipeline.

How does your spring start three weeks prior to our autumn?

@tony baldwin misplaced comment? I found this on Erkan's thread.

Anyway in Australia we tend to do things that are practical and uncomplicated. So seasons start and end on month boundaries. It's better this way.

We also ignore pennies/pence (which are worthless except as collector's items, where they are worth approximately $0.01 in the antique market).

$0.05 is the smallest denomination of coin in circulation.

No, not misplaced.

Autumn, as you know, starts here on Sept. 21, which is when Spring starts for all my friends in So. America, so I expected the same in Australia.
Of course, starting at the beginning of the month explains the difference to me, now, although, it would make more sense, to me, to start in October, since that's only a week after we start, instead of 3 weeks before.

We do everything a day before you - why not start the seasons before you also?
